SAFETY RULES
ABSOLUTE SAFETY RULES:
VIOLATION OF ANY ONE OF THESE RULES MAY RESULT IN STUDENT DISMISSAL
- Treat all firearms as if they were always loaded.
- Do not load a firearm until you are ready to use it.
- Never allow your firearm's muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until you are on target and decide to shoot.
- Know your target and what is beyond it.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES:
- Guns brought by students for class must be unloaded and cased.
- Only quality factory ammunition may be used--no reloads, +p loads or magnum loads.
- Eye and ear protection must be used on the range.
- Guns may not be uncased or handled until they are at the shooting bench.
- Uncased guns must point down range at all times.
- No gun is to be loaded unless allowed by instructor.
- Do not leave a loaded gun unattended. If it's loaded, keep it in your hands and pointed down range.
- When not shooting, all guns must be unloaded, actions open, safeties on.
- If a malfunction occurs, keep gun pointed down range. Raise non-shooting hand for help.
- If you drop something, do not bend down to pick it up. Raise non-shooting hand for help.
- If you do not hear or understand an instruction, raise your non-shooting hand for help.
- Do not give to or receive from anyone any firearm unless the action is open, safety is on and the firearm is cleared of any ammunition.
- Do not talk to or distract any student who is at the shooting bench.
- Do not allow any part of your body to go in front of the muzzle of your firearm or the firearms of any other students.
- Listen to and carefully follow the range instructions.
